A nice smile for Papa Bear.

Highbridge Aviary.

We spent a few hours with friends today. Enjoyed breakfast, watched birds at the feeders (Robins, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Finches, Sparrows, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Pine Grosbeaks), we watch Nick work on the wood pile and of course we watched the Packers game. Oh and one final thing I think I may have discovered a "new bird species". See details below.

A rare sighting for this area.
I believe this is a tangerine tuft crested, florescent breasted Highbridge Dove.

Francesca enjoying her first snow storm.

Francesca is a student at the local liberal arts college. We met this afternoon while she was out running. She mentioned that this was her first snow. She is from Napa California. I hope next time I meet her this winter we are both in Napa.

Weather update: December 04, 2007 22:00 CST: Snowfall 12"

Earning their money today.

These guys had a cold, snowy, slippery day to be working on a roof.

Snowing today. Lets go out and slide.

Two days of snow and a little help from Mom and Dad and you've got your own sliding hill.

Ice in the bay.

The ice is starting to cover the shoreline. It is always great to see this because it means ice fishing is not to far off. But the older I get the less I seem to enjoy the cold weather that brings the ice to the bay. Curious!

Packer Backer!!

"Men" at work.

This little guy is always "working" at building something.

Once built it must be used.

This guy is working for the moment.....until...

...he can supervise.

Tonight's sunset.

Both of these photos were taken from the parking lot of Ashland's new bigbox superstore.

Testing my factory refurbed lens and camera.

Recently I sent my Canon len (100-400mm) and Canon 20D camera off for a factory refub including cleaning and adjustments. These photos are a few of the first I've taken since getting both back. At least at this point it appears they did manage to get them clean. I'm not seeing any of those annoying dust specks that were pretty common before they were refurbed.

Cleaning the lens and camera isn't going to help me ID this gull. Ryan?
