Can you taste them?

If not I have. G...o...o...d!

Greedy little critter. The 4 legged one. The two legged one is just curious.

This little chipmunk chewed the cover off the feeder then ate his way to captivity.

He had to be released by the hand that feeds him. We did get a good laugh.

While all the above activity was taking place "our buddy" watched until the chipmunk scurried away. At that point he just had to see what was in the feeder.

The road home.

I told you it was getting cooler.

This coyote was headed to the brush on a dead out run as soon as he saw me stop.

Ryan B. Did you catch this sighting on the way home?

This struck me as one of the stranger perching locations I've seen. I believe this Killdeer is sitting on a pile of lime.

Additional backyard wonders.

Both of these photos were taken in the backyard when I returned home from work today.

A sign of changing seasons. The days are cooling.

Late summer crop.

We do love to fish.

My dad would have loved to have had an opportunity to fish with "number 6". I sure do.

Male Calico Pennant dragonfly (see below) on our second most favorite lake. Sawdust Bayfield County WI.

Update: Via Ryan Brady the ID on the dragonfly is a male Calico Pennant.
I think rather than referring to Ryan as "the bird guy" I'm going to refer to him as "the winged guy". It seems if it has wings he knows about it. Thanks Ryan!

For Mom and Dad S in La Crosse WI.

Visiting the farmers market.

UPDATE:
A blocked parking lot? What's the gain?

This makes NO sense.
1. Block off a city block. At least 2/3 of it.
2. Move from the adjacent paking lot (above) to gain available parking space.
3. Then close off the parking lot reducing available parking space.

Seems to me it creates LESS access to the farmers market and the other business. DUMB!

Not everything in our yard is edible.

Angel's trumpet.

Angel's trumpet. These flowers are short lived. They only last about 24 hours then they wilt away. But for a short time they are beautiful.

Not all visitors to the feeder hum. Some buzz.

Our yard is getting ready to harvest. Apples, plums, grapes, raspberries and blueberries.

A lake I (we) love to fish.

This is one of my favorite spots in this part of the country. It's a small lake, not well known, nice fishing, no "wall hangers", and peaceful.

First bass on a new 3wt flyrod. This is an example of the cookie cutter size, near legal size large mouth bass we often catch. In years of fishing this lake we've never caught a legal size bass. But the fishing experience is still great.

It the kind of spot where you can forget the troubles of the day and relax. A place where there never seems to be anything hanging over your head....unless of course you bring Stretch and Mrs. Stretch along on the fishing trip.

County Hwy. E.

This is a honey of a spot. Pun intended.

This is a crop that depends on honeybee pollination.

The two fields in these photos where within 1/4 mile of each other. I'm sure a planned arrangement.

Michelle, Bib 714, Firehouse 50. First race and a first place.

Rolling start. Heading to the starting line.

First race. First pack. Bib 714.

Halfway mark. 25 mile down 25 miles to go.

Last quarter mile.

Turning to the finish.

Michelle with some local supporters.

The unofficial results placed Michelle at # 1 for her age group. If the official results agree... WOW!

In any case she rode a great race and to quote her "I didn't crash and I didn't make anyone else crash that was the best part".
