WI Hwy. 63 and County E. Entering the Bibon.
This section of road and the fog over the valley ahead was a common sight on my morning drives to Drummond.

Why does a bear cross the road?
Answer: I still don't know I was to busy getting the picture to see what the bear was doing.
Look close it is there near the center of the road. These photos were taken through the windshield.

Inland lake ice fishing trip.
We spent a couple of days in the Minocqua WI area. Ice fishing, reading, eating out and of course a little quilting for the ladies.
The fishing was fun..... with some new experiences. My wife caught her first fish through the ice a Northern Pike.
The perch were biting... but slow and light. The three day trip ended with a nice walleye catch at 10:00 P.M. on Saturday night. Hey Skip the fish measured > than 17 inches.
The weather wasn't the best on Thursday and Friday but by Saturday night it was miserable.... windy and snow mixed with rain. The wind was from the East all day long.
Wind from the West, fish bite the best.
Wind from the East, fish bite the least.
Wind from the North, do not go forth.
Wind from the South blows bait in their mouth.
Other Wisconsin Weather Stories.
Trip home was not fun. The snow and rain mix made the roads sloppy.
This guy on the left snowbank is not having a good day either.
A dining out tip. If you are in the Minocqua / Woodruff / St. Germain WI area try eating at McGregor's Blink Bonnie for a great steak. Arrive early limited seating.

Overnight camping trip to Medford WI. Saturday A.M. travel.

With the weather forecast projecting additional snow and with the option of heading south to the gulf coast for the winter out of the question. We decided to head north to home.
We enjoyed our overnight adventure and have decided to set a new goal in our retired (semi) life. Our goal for this winter is to camp at least one night each month between now and June 30, 2010 in the camper. With a little planning I think we can do it.
Anyone have a heated garage we can pull the camper into for the January-March adventures?
If not could someone remind me.....what are the signs of early onset frost bite?
It should be an adventure.

The snow line on Saturday was just south of Mellen. From Abbotsford to Mellen we drove through snow and slush. The night before left a half a dozen cars in the ditch.
