Highbridge Aviary.
We spent a few hours with friends today. Enjoyed breakfast, watched birds at the feeders (Robins, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Finches, Sparrows, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Pine Grosbeaks), we watch Nick work on the wood pile and of course we watched the Packers game. Oh and one final thing I think I may have discovered a "new bird species". See details below.
A rare sighting for this area.
I believe this is a tangerine tuft crested, florescent breasted Highbridge Dove.

Ashland City Christmas Parade 2007.
Wrong again! What a difference a day makes. Sub-zero temps helped.
From the Ashland side the bay it appears to be completely frozen over today.
A favorite spot for "early ice" fisherman.
Headed out toward the channel.

Francesca enjoying her first snow storm.
Francesca is a student at the local liberal arts college. We met this afternoon while she was out running. She mentioned that this was her first snow. She is from Napa California. I hope next time I meet her this winter we are both in Napa.
