Houghton Point. Between Washburn and Bayfield WI.
This spot is beautiful winter or summer. The water temperature is about the same in either season give or take a few degrees.

It looks like a giant petrified mushroom.
These little (some are larger) islands, table rocks , out crops are fairly common along the northern Wisconsin Lake Superior shoreline.
What I wasn't able to photograph on yesterday's outing was the cave cut back into the shoreline.
The ice wasn't safe enough to venture out on.
I'll mark that down as a future trip to make.
One needs to sacrifice for one's art. Chicken.
