This is not your campfire pile of wood.


This "lumber yard" of logs is just south of Glidden WI. For size perspective note the snow fence running along the length of this huge pile of logs. The average snow fence is 4 to 4.5 feet high.

when i was in high school, that field was where the cross-country race ended. it was the worst, you had to run the length of that field, the end in sight but you were so dog tired.

I remember it as a landing strip and a place where they flew model planes.

Looks like the pile of trash that was piled up here after hurricane Frances and then Jean hit. I'm not kidding. The trash haulers took all the organic stuff to one site and dumped it. It truly was a mountain. Later they chipped it all up and now it's all gone.
