Asian Ladybird Beetle.
This beetle was one of thousands that were on this sandy beach. It appears to be mating season.

Great pictures of these pests. I didn't realize what I was seeing on the beach. Last night, I woke up to itchy knees. Do these things bite?
Overall, a great day! Good weather, good food, nice beach, a pocket full of rocks and great friends. Thanks.
Yes they do bite.
But they're so pretty.
