August fishing at it's best.
The only way to fish on a hot summer day. Cool, no bugs, minimum gear and who cares if the fish are biting. Photos by Mrs. Shutterwi

Shutter, did you have any clothes on? Mrs. Shutter should have posted the one of you getting out of the lake!
Fishing? Looks like an excuse to play in the water to me. :)
Spadoman it was a public lake and as I said "minimum gear"....that would be swimming trunks.

when your fishing like this it's hard to "play in the water".
It's a fishing technique that takes lots of practice.
For example: you have to learn a whole new netting technique.
Netting the fish eyeball to eyeball is harder than it sounds.
The larger the fish the bigger the eyeball(s) and your in their world now.
The battles can be fierce!
Think about it! Serious stuff!
Playing! I think not! ;)
DID YOUR SHOES MAKE IT OUT ALIVE?!
hey, i've seen this bobbing head before! the twins are very jealous of your recent fishing adventure. we'll be there next summer!!
A+2 we'll leave grampa and the twins home and we'll go fishing :)
Okay, here's my suggestion. Perhaps if you stood where the water is less deep the monsters wouldn't be "eye to eye" with you. LOL
Seems the deepness of the water is the number one difficulty factor here. ;)

Well not quite.
In my case it's the size of the fish.
If Skip, ColdH20 and Spadoman weren't following this post I simply say all of the fish are shall we say "record book" size. ;)
I think you've captured the essence of summer in northern Wisconsin. What a hoot!

Glad Mrs. Shutterwi and Mr. Shutterwi are enjoying their summer.
