Feels like April.
This picture was taken today just before sunset. Notice the open water and the ridge of push ice. This would be a typical picture for late April not early January. Under normal weather conditions the bay would be frozen and the ice would be covered with ice fishing shacks.
This picture was taken about 15 minutes after the photo above. It was taken from the westend beach area overlooking the sloughs at Prentice Park.
I've decided to call this hawk "old faithful". I can always count on it being somewhere along Hwy. 63 in the Bibon Swamp.

This weather is incredible, no shacks on the bay--what is this world coming to-more bio fuel and electric cars--algore may want to video for his global warming scare tactics and personal profits-oops did that sound political, sorry-I am stongly a independent conservative! Yes their is such a creature and extremely proud of it!! LOL
No such thing as an independent right-winger. They've been in lock-step support of Bu$hCo for six years & look where they've taken us. Thanks alot BGN, America's a way better place.
P.S. Great pics,as usual.
Less anyone be confused.
Exxon Mobil funded the research against global warming.

JUST like the tobacco companies funded the research say smoking didn't cause lung cancer.
If you don't believe global warming IS a fact than sit back grab a smoke and wait until you are standing neck deep in water dying of lung cancer.
Also see this hawk often, had once thought it was a young eagle. Am surprised he stays in the area so close to the eagle's nest north end of the swamp.

It's an immature Rough-Legged hawk born last spring.
This weekly blogging has got to stop. I'm going to have to turn to hard drugs pretty soon. You will have to live with that, my friend.
