A day for wildlife photos.

Northern Cresent Phyciodes selenis


Variegated Fritillary Euptoieta claudia. The Northern Cresent, dragonflies and this butterfly were all out at Long Lake Washburn,WI. Thanks Ryan Brady for the ID.


Monarch Danaus plexippus

All of these photos were taken today and we still managed to get in some fishing and spent time with coldH2o who managed to catch a dozen nice panfish.

Tattered butterfly on the hawkweed above the monarch is a Variegated Fritillary. Like the C. Buckeye, it's been a big year for this southern species. Where was this one?

he went fishing without a boat? oh, that's right, he signed a contract on his bday that stated he has everything he wants so he can't complain anymore. great pics!

Hey, that was a contract about tools. It said nothing about a boat. Oh, & BTW, I may need to void that contract. If I get to Rockler's, when I visiting y'all.

OK, how about posting on your trip into the wilds of the UP with Mrs. Shutterwi? BTW, I caught 25 nice bluegills yesterday. & I believe the Mrs. could fish from shore. &, the best part was that I fished in the heat of the afternoon, under the bright sun. It was great.
